Robert Eugene Finney Sr.

Robert Eugene Finney Sr., 70, of Tamaroa, passed away at 9:29 A.M., Monday, January 12, 2004 at St. Mary's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Robert worked in construction as a carpenter and house mover.  He was a member of Tamaroa American Legion, and Carpenter's Union.  He was a U.S. Army veteran. 
He was born April 18, 1933 at Tamaroa, IL, the son of Clyde L. and Anna L. (Crowe) Finney.
He married Cecelia G. Ballheimer on June 29, 1954 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Tamaroa, eleven children - Robert Finney Jr. of Lake Havasu, AZ, James Finney of Du Quoin, Michael Finney Sr. of Clinton, TN, Elizabeth Jacobs and husband Michael of Lake Havasu, AZ, Brenda Finney of Pinckneyville, Timothy Joe Finney of Minnesota, Jeffrey Finney of Tamaroa, Janice Finney of Carbondale, Judith Finney of Harriman, TN, Cynthia Finney of Tamaroa, and Melissa Finney of Pinckneyville, one sister - Mary Vineyard of Lake Havasu, AZ, one brother - Richard Finney of Lake Havasu, AZ, aunt and uncle - Frank and Edna Woodrome of Tamaroa, fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother - William Dean Finney and one brother in infancy - Clyde Finney.
Funeral services were at 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 16, 2004 at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Rev. Joseph Crowe officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
